Privacy Policy

Short version: We respect your privacy. We do not require an account. We do not sell personal data. Your PDFs are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers.

Scope

This policy explains how fillPDF handles information when you visit our website, use the Editor, or interact with basic analytics on our pages.

Files

No upload by default. Your PDFs are processed locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers. Temporary data may be held in your device’s memory or local storage for functionality and is controlled by your browser.

If we introduce optional cloud features in the future, we will ask for your consent before any upload and update this page to describe what is stored, where, and for how long.

Analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a lightweight, privacy-first measurement tool. It loads a small JavaScript “beacon” from Cloudflare that collects basic usage and performance metrics. It does not use cookies or localStorage, and Cloudflare states it does not fingerprint people using IP address, User-Agent, or similar identifiers for analytics purposes.

What is collected

• Visits and page views. Page views and “visits” (a page view that arrives from a different site or direct link).
• Performance metrics. Real-user measurements such as page load timing and Core Web Vitals, gathered via the browser’s Performance API.
• Aggregated dimensions. Host, path, referrer host, country, and device type to understand traffic in aggregate.

How it works

The beacon script is served from static.cloudflareinsights.com and sends measurements using the browser’s sendBeacon mechanism. Cloudflare may also report Server-Timing headers for performance diagnostics.

Why we use it

We use these aggregated metrics to keep the site reliable, diagnose issues, and understand which pages are useful. We do not use analytics to read, upload, or profile the contents of your documents.

Your choices

• You can use a content blocker or network filter to block requests to static.cloudflareinsights.com. The site and editor continue to work normally.
• You can disable JavaScript in your browser; most of the site remains viewable, but the editor requires JavaScript to function.

Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies

The Editor may use local storage to remember your preferences (for example, the last tool you used). That data stays on your device.

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or localStorage for analytics. Other Cloudflare services we rely on for security or performance may set strictly necessary cookies at the edge, which Cloudflare documents in its cookie references.

Technical data and security

Like most websites, basic technical information may be processed temporarily to deliver pages and protect the service. Cloudflare operates a global network and processes limited technical data as a service provider, subject to its privacy and GDPR commitments.

Advertising

We keep the editor free by showing unobtrusive ads. Where required by law, we present consent choices for optional cookies or personalized ads. If you decline personalization, we aim to serve non-personalized ads that rely on contextual information only. (Analytics described above does not set cookies.)

Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent for optional cookies or personalized ads at any time. Residents of regions such as the EU/EEA (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA) may have additional rights under local law.

Children

fillPDF is intended for individuals 16+ (or the age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us so we can address it.

International processing

Our site and our providers (including Cloudflare) may process data on infrastructure located in various countries, with appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, such as short-term operational logs and aggregated analytics. Your PDFs are not uploaded by default, so we do not retain copies of your documents.

Third-party links

Our site may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our service or legal requirements. Material changes will be noted on this page and the “Effective date” will be updated.
